What is Authentication?

Authentication is the process or action of proving or showing something to be true, genuine, or valid. "The prints will be stamped with his seal and accompanied by a letter of authentication"

Authentication is the act of proving an assertion, such as the identity of a computer system user. In contrast with identification, 

the act of indicating a person or thing's identity, authentication is the process of verifying that identity. 

 

What is Computing?

Computing is the process or action of verifying the identity of a user or process.

 

What is Authorization?

The action of authorizing is a document giving official permission.

Authorization is the function of specifying access rights/privileges to resources, which is related to general information security and computer security, and to access control in particular. More formally, "to authorize" is to define an access policy. 

 

What is  Authentication &  Authorization?

Simply, authentication is the process of verifying who someone is, whereas authorization is the process of verifying what specific applications, files, and data a user has access to

What is Skill Assessment?

Skill Assessment is the comparison of actual performance of a skill with the specified standard for performance of that skill under the circumstances specified by the standard, and evaluation of whether the performance meets or exceed the requirements.

Accreditation is a peer-review process of accountability and quality assurance in higher education.

 

What is a Credit Hour? (University credits in United States & Credit hours Calculator)

In a college or university in the United States, students generally receive credit hours based on the number of "contact hours" per week in class, for one term; better known as semester credit hours (SCH). A contact hour includes any lecture or lab time when the professor is teaching the student or coaching the student while they apply the course information to an activity. Regardless of the duration of the course (i.e. a short semester like summer or intersession) and depending on the state or jurisdiction, a semester credit hour is 15-16 contact hours per semester. Most college and university courses are three semester credit hours (SCH) or 45-48 contact hours, so they usually meet for three hours per week over a 15-week semester.[citation needed]

 

What is Credit Transfer?

Credit Transfer or advanced standing are the terms used by colleges and universities for the procedure of granting credit to a student for educational experiences or courses undertaken at another institution. This is a subset of Recognition of Prior Learning (which also includes prior work or non-institutional experience for credit).

 

What is a credit waiver in college?

If you believe taking a required course would duplicate previous efforts, you may petition for a waiver of coursework. A waiver of requirement allows you to not take a required course and indicates you have met the course requirements and associated competencies that are associated with this course.

 

What is Credit Exemption?
Credit Exemption refers to the credit of a study programme that has been waived, determined during the admission process into the programme. The exemptions are given on specific courses based on the students' achievement of those courses in their previous level of study or institution or skill.

 

What is Course equivalency? 

If a course is viewed as equal or more challenging in subject and course material than the course offered by the receiving college or university, the course can be noted as an equivalent course. A course equivalency can be unilateral, meaning it is deemed equivalent by the receiver.
