Process:

Skill Bank for Academic Credit (SBAC) is envisioned as a digital bank that holds the credit earned by a student in any course whether it is from online or offline or hybrid mode from the accredited and recognized institutions. It is a key tool in facilitating multidisciplinary and holistic learning and multiple entry and exit in higher education.

A student, who is now studying in CSE and he has to fulfill 148 credits through the regular academic system. Now if he opens an account with Skill Bank and if he completes a course like Project Management or Python, JAVA from an online or offline or hybrid platform, the credit for this course will be calculated and saved to our SBAC. If he has that course in his regular 148 credits, then he does not have to repeat the course. It means the course will be exempted. 

Thousands of students are studying in Level 6 Education under NTVQF commonly known as Diploma in Engineering. This is a 4 years long engineering program. After completing a Diploma in Engineering, the majority of the students intend to pursue higher education from the university. We have a scope to reduce the duration of the graduation program under Daffodil International University (DIU) for our Diploma Engineering students/other discipline students by providing the hard and soft skills in practical/ lab-based workshop and classroom-based and blended/hybrid mode under SBAC.

 

Over the last twenty years, DIU has taken many initiatives to develop the skills of the students. Our special courses such as "Art of Living", "Employability360" have already been acclaimed worldwide. Our innovative project "One Student-One Laptop" has already been applauded globally. Also, our state-of-the-art infrastructural development brings confidence to the students. We have ensured every facility, opportunity, Industry collaboration, and partnership to support graduates’ effective placement. 

Our Honorable Prime Minister is always giving importance to Technical Education, Skill Based and outcome-focused education systems. Taking this matter with due importance, our Education Ministry and University Grants Commission are also encouraging the Outcome-based education systems. Daffodil International University has set the mission to transform the education systems into outcome-based education so that every graduate can proudly announce their employability just after completing their study at the university. 

 So, now is the right time for us to upgrade the traditional Knowledge-Based education system into the Skill Based learning opportunity so that 100% of graduates can secure their industry placement.
